Mr. Hendrix A. Pierre is a UK born citizen and citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica.   His family resided in the beautiful village of Mahaut, where he enjoyed the rich Dominican culture and way of life. His childhood was most fulfilling, well balanced and well rounded; giving him the unique qualities that only Dominica and Dominicans can instill in the early part of life.  Mr. Pierre allegiance to Dominica is very real and vibrant.

He returned to the UK in 1986 in pursuit of a career in Electronic Servicing as a Low Voltage Technician. His love for Dominica was evident when he returned to Dominica seven years later. There he established his business as an Audio, Video and Security Specialist and practiced as a technician for six years. Upon returning to the UK, Mr. Pierre established Audiotech in-Car Audio, Security and Electrical Services where he was proprietor and manager for nine years. 

His entry to the USA gave him the opportunity to further his education and establish his business.  Presently Mr. Pierre is manager and proprietor of A.V.S Solutions Inc.; where he practices high level audio, video, security and other low voltage installation.

Mr. Pierre is the founder of the A Better Dominica organization.  His realization of who we are as a people and the zeal to transform the mindset of his people led him to this moment in his life.

John E.Maynard was born in Goodwill, and later attended the Dominica and Antigua grammar schools.While in Antigua he worked at the ZDK and ABS radio station.

A gifted artist and designer, who is largely self-taught, John was influential in the development of Top Ranking Antigua limited where he designed and manufactured leather goods.

 

After migrating to New York, he attended the Announcers Training School (ATS)and graduated with honors. He also attended Pratt Institute where he majored in engineering and architecture, and later Columbia University where he pursued studies in computer technology and networking management.

 

Presently, he is the CEO of an internet radio/TV station  (http://www.toprankingradio.com/) where he is the voice for a better Dominica.

Adam Dupuis is currently founder and Executive Director of the Foundation for the Development of the Commonwealth of Dominica, while continuing his education in the field of Law. As Director, he is committed to bring about social and economic betterment to the people of Dominica.
Prior to assu
ming his current position, he worked as a Customs Broker at Anse De Mai, and later the Royal Montserrat Police Force.

 

He also worked for more than 20 years in the Tourism sector. With the wealth of knowledge and experience that he has in this sector, Adam hopes to make himself available to Dominica for the enhancement of its Tourism Sector, which could very well be the backbone of the local economy

Joan Bellot was born in Picodeau, Dominica.  She holds Degrees in Business Management and Human Resources Management. Joan's career began as an educator and since then she has worked in the business world in various management positions.  Presently she is in finance and has been president of her own company for the past twelve years.

Joan is a consummate professional whose entrepreneurial skills have led her to travel all over the world; yet in all her extensive travels, she has never forgotten “the God of her Mother.” She is committed to living a God honoring life and is willing to share whatever insights and skills she has acquired in her life’s journey.

Her book entitled, Trust, Delight, Commit, Rest, gives valuable insights into the trials and struggles we experience in our Christian walk, is due to be in print in the summer of 2009.

Shirley Allan, better known as Sister Shirls comes from La Plaine Dominica where she had been actively involved in Community service and development.

She says of herself “grassroots to the core,” a true people’s person. She was one of the top producing insurance representatives in Dominica.

She is experienced with non profit organizational management working in the service of humanity. Shirley will tell you that one of her most fulfilling life experiences is working with the Center for Multicultural Human Services.

She endeavors to continue a life of service for the betterment of her people and of her country Dominica and the world at large. She now resides in Atlanta, where she enjoys being with her grandchildren Ian and Nina.

Dr. Sam is a general surgeon who graduated from Howard University in Washington DC. He has a lifelong passion for unity and progress in Dominica. Before leaving home, he served as President of the United Student Council, Secretary General of the National Youth Council, Co-host of the DBS youth program Motion, President of the Mental Health Association and taught at the Wesley High School
 

He continues to be very active in all efforts to develop Dominica, sending relief supplies after hurricanes, the first chill box and Cadillac hearse, as well as needed medical supplies to the PMH.

He helped arrange and assisted with the first Dominican brother-sister kidney transplant and performed the first laparoscopic gallbladder operation at PMH with Dr. Paul. He served as chairman of the health committee of the Dominica Association of Arts and Sciences (DAAS). He was asked to deliver the eulogy for Prime Minister Roosie Douglas at Westminster England as well as the keynote address at the Independence Day Gala in Toronto.

Dr. Sam believes every Dominican should be fully Dominican anywhere and should strongly protect the interest of their country. His Better Dominica You tube videos have inspired fellow Dominicans from all backgrounds that indeed we have to power to help bring about change for the good to our beautiful homeland.

Dr. Thomson Fontaine is currently an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) a position he has held for the past nine years. 
At the IMF he has provided economic policy advice to several country governments including those of Afghanistan, Vietnam, Turkey and Niger and several other African eral other African countries; and provided training to central bankers in the Caribbean and the Middle East.

A national of Dominica, he is currently President of the Caribbean Association of World Bank IMF Staff (CAWI), an executive member of the Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences (DAAS), and founder and editor of TheDominican.net an online news magazine. He previously lectured at Clemson University and the University of the West Indies. His publications include research on currency crises, economic growth issues and the Diaspora.
